Flying to Peru

If you are flying to Lima, the airport to select is Jorge Chavez International Airport, located in Callao, a province close to Lima. Please note that the Jorge Chávez International Airport will change its address in December 2024. Updated information will be provided closer to the event.

Currency Exchange

The currency in Peru is the “Nuevo Sol” or “Soles”. Currency exchange at Jorge Chávez International Airport is available at Banco Interbank and Western Union agencies, both located in the main hall of international departures.

Exchange rates at the airport are usually higher, so we recommend changing only what is necessary for your transportation to your accommodation.

You can exchange money in Miraflores at several ‘Casas de Cambio’ or with ‘cambistas’ (licensed money changers).

Transport

After clearing immigration, customs, and collecting your bags, you will have several transportation options to reach your accommodation. Please make sure to avoid unregistered taxis or public buses directly from the airport, as safety may be an issue. Below are some safe options:

Accommodation

There is no official hotel for the congress, but we recommend looking for options in the Miraflores neighbourhood, particularly around Kenedy Park (“Parque Kenedy”). While this area is not adjacent to the congress venue, it is one of the safest neighbourhoods and is close to the main tourist attractions in the city. Below are some recommended options:

Health advice

We recommend not drinking tap water unless it has been boiled. However, most restaurants and bars serve bottled or boiled water, so there is no need to worry when dining out.
